As the state of North Carolina moves toward reopening, University Psychological is evaluating how and when our physical office locations may safely reopen. At this time, our clinicians are continuing to provide services for established, and new clients, via Telehealth and phone sessions. It is not yet clear when we can safely resume in person sessions. Please do not hesitate to discuss this with your therapist.

University Psychological Associates is a group of highly qualified, caring professionals dedicated to helping people achieve their goals for personal growth and emotional well-being. Our clinicians are all licensed mental health professionals. In this time of the COVID-19 global pandemic and enhanced social stressors, we recognize the need for healing within our communities. Our clinicians are providing services for new and established clients via HIPAA compliant Telehealth and phone sessions. We are trained as psychologists, marriage and family therapists, clinical social workers, and clinical counselors. It has been the mission of University Psychological Associates for more than 38 years to promote respect for human dignity and diversity, facilitating healing and good mental health.  We understand that racial discrimination, oppression, poverty, and other forms of social injustice have vast negative impact on both mental, physical and emotional wellness.

We are aware that new clients seek our services when they are in the midst of one or more mental health crises.  These crises are sometimes directly or indirectly linked to the experience of chronic trauma.  Chronic trauma can be due to a variety of painful life experiences including, but not limited to: growing up in a dysfunctional, abusive or neglectful family, the experience of systemic racism and discrimination, and exposure to repeated life-threatening situations.

We recognize that these origins of mental health symptoms are greatly varied.  Our services include assessment and treatment for issues and disorders including:

  • Anxiety
  • Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
